This is a very low volume, painless liposuction procedure where fat is removed from just beneath the skin on an outpatient basis. Once removed the cells must be separated from the fatty tissue. In order to meet FDA guidelines for minimal manipulation we have a third party, FDA approved lab mechanically separate cells. This is an exceptional and unique approach that yields extremely high cell counts in the 100\u2019s of millions. All of the samples are tested by a third party for sterility and the cells are counted and viability is determined to maintain consistency of samples.<\/p>\n

Adipose-derived stem cell therapy is a regenerative medical therapy that relies on adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells to treat various musculoskeletal problems that have limited therapeutic options.<\/p>\n
All stem cells are undifferentiated, meaning they have no specialized structure or function at the time of extraction. However, these cells have a unique ability to become specialized, meaning they can self-renew and, ultimately, develop into various specialized cell types.<\/p>\n
In orthopedic medicine, we use multipotent, adult mesenchymal stem cells derived from adipose tissue (ADSCs) or bone marrow, which can differentiate into various specialized cell types. These include bone, cartilage, tendon, ligament and muscle tissue cells. We do not use pluripotent embryonic stem cells, which can differentiate into any cell type in the human body.<\/p>\n
The therapy begins with an adipose stem cell harvesting procedure to extract adipose tissue samples, which are rich in endogenous MSCs. The stem cells are then extracted from the tissue samples, concentrated and sterilized to produce the patient\u2019s therapeutic injections.
