What are the Risks?

  • To best understand risks we have to look to the litterature.

  • Studies that report adverse events report less than 1% risk of infection, increasing herniation.

  • While the rate of occurance is very low, there is risk of infection, disc hernition, lung injury (if thoracic discs), spinal cord injury or nerve injury, paralysis, reaction to numbing or other medicines, and of course death, but in my opinion the greatest risk is that you may not get better. This list is not a complete list as there exists risks outside of our ability to forcast them.

    • In short very low risk of getting worse, moderate risk of not getting better, fair to good chance of improvement.
